Montgomery County, Maryland is full of wonderful neighborhoods and is appealing as a great suburb of Washington, D.C. Many of the homes, however, are outdated and inefficient for modern living. Land for new construction is scarce and expensive. Tearing down an existing home allowed this owner to build anew. It was important to provide this family with a modern, functional home, but blend in with the established neighborhood. Built to the National Green Building Bronze Standard, the new home more than doubled the family’s living space.
