Maryland State HouseWilliam Zahler, Co-Chair of the Maryland Residential Green Building Council, applauded the Governor’s decision to sign Md HB 630. The bill will encourage the construction of Green buildings by expanding the definition of High Performance Homes. These homes will be certified under the ICC National Green Building Standard, the only residential green certification to be approved by the American National Standards Institute.

“For customers wanting a green certified home, the ICC 700 is the way to go. I can build or remodel a home that is green certified and affordable under this program. It’s great that the state finally recognizes this standard” said William Zahler upon passage of the bill.

William joined with his fellow green builders in supporting the bill. Zahler Construction has a long-held tradition of using Green Building techniques and materials, providing energy savings for owners and sustainable development for both new and existing neighborhoods.
